where is this courage and what gives it name/
that squelches doubt and the deaf listening
that puts misfortune aside and defeats even the death reality/
this is the call of my year
beyond the perseverance that is a lifetime
and why in that
I must ask
is it always a striving
is it for everyone or only for
those with certain eyes that see
this is the call of this year
to be strong
to take courage
to be bold in trust
hold it as the solid light it is
wrapped in my fingers tightly
a gentle fluttering grasp
