They have two sets of silverware
two drawers to hold them for shits sake
they are two do they each need their own set?
I have two one given that used to be theirs so there’s three
the other from that wedding in that past life so long ago there was
joy in it I am sure but any more the silverware in the drawer some missing some bent
one spoon with little nicks along its bowl where it was used to pry an unopenable can by one of these sons so long ago from that nearly equal long ago marriage
it sits in that drawer ready to serve up the next meal to mouth
then get washed in soapy warm water and slipped back into the drawer
if a friend or two happens by for a bite I have enough to offer a spoon fork or knife
isn’t this enough?
