My life is mine to do what I want with it

give it back

take it all

return it someday to the wild earth

why then do I bother with a hesitation

with a question of whether it is right or wrong

I have been taught these things before I knew my life was mine

they are a part of what I hold

no questions then required

at some point they all must fall away

with age with wisdom

we take up the cross or the bow

shoot our arrows and hope to land

in the soil rendered from the scraps of eden

the dust of heaven

here

on earth
