Your artistic voice is not yours. It is lent to you for this lifetime, unique to you, here and now.
It is invaluable because of the way in which it weaves you
in and through others.
It is one of so many other weaves in the warp of the universal tapestry.
Your thread may not feel so important.
Society tends to feed words that cause doubts and dis-ability to creative truth.
It is time though, to look behind these voices, and move forward.
Pause if you must, but not to adjust their volume.
Pause to watch them pass by, then step forward without that crowd muddying your way.
When the time comes your thread will be tied off
a new one taken up to add additional color, texture, vibrancy to this tapestry.
Others too, woven alongside you, intermingled then dropped, woven tight, or for a mere stitch or two.
As you step back to see what your thread is a part of, how it has shone alongside the one you thought was causing you strife, or played subtly against the texture of the section you considered
‘better than’, you will feel your heart swell, in realizing your place.
The importance and value of what some may try to tell you is nothing, is really so necessary…. a quiet space where the eye rests.
Wake at your own gates of heaven.
