Deepen your creative practice by passing it on. EncaustiCastle is proud to open our ground-level Carriage House Studio as an accessible, dedicated workshop and teaching space for regional artists, makers, and educators.

Designed to accommodate creative expressions of all kinds, this bright, industrious space provides the perfect footprint for hands-on learning. Whether you are hosting an intimate afternoon workshop, a multi-week course, or an intensive weekend masterclass, the Carriage House Studio at The EC offers local educators an inspiring environment to connect with students and build community.

 

 Studio Amenities & Specs (The Fine Print)

Space Features:

  • Accessibility: Ground-level entry for easy loading of supplies and student access.

  • Amenities: Dedicated utility sink and restroom located directly within the studio.

  • Layout: Flexible floor plan with sturdy worktables, adjustable seating, and excellent natural light.

  • Environment: A vibrant, working creative ecosystem sharing a footprint with our resident ceramic studio, and extends to the eight working artist studios throughout the compound. As well, extensive perennial gardens and a small labyrinth can be enjoyed as seasons permit!

  • Note: Instructors are responsible for providing specialized tools and consumable student material

Fee Structures & Hosting Models

 

Option 1: The Hourly/Daily Flat Rental (Lowest Admin Lift)

You treat the studio as a venue rental, handling your own ticketing, marketing, and material fees.

  • Hourly Rate: $30/hour (Include 30 minutes of free setup/cleanup time).

  • Half-Day Rate (Up to 4 hours): $100

  • Full-Day Intensive (Up to 8 hours): $185

  • Best for: Established educators who already have a student following.

Option 2: The Revenue Split (Collaborative Growth)

The compound handles the registration system and payment processing, split with the artist.

  • 60/40 Split: You keep 60% of the ticket price, and The EC keeps 40% to cover utilities, space maintenance, and marketing support.

  • Best for: Emerging teachers who need the compound’s audience reach to fill seats.
