Residencies at the EncaustiCastle are self directed and managed. Time with Trish is not assumed, yet is available upon inquiry.

Space for residency and accommodation are third floor studio, second floor Garden Room accommodations, bathroom and kitchenette. It is presumed and understood that all other spaces are under the direction of either homeowner (Trish) or studio artists and therefore off limits to artist in residence.

Kitchenette contains apartment frig, pantry cupboard, toaster oven, microwave, drip coffee pot, and electric kettle. All linens are provided.

Resident takes responsibility for all meals, cleaning, maintenance of space to check-in level of cleanliness and organization, and supplies and materials for duration of residency.

Onsite studio artists use the kitchenette; it is common space therefore assumed responsibly maintained to optimal levels for all.

Utilities: Use of heat/air is controlled by resident and artist studios on second/third floor. Usage is split amongst artists and residence dependent on duration of stay. (redacted from $200 security deposit)

Ethical impact: It is necessary-because of the age of the house and the ethics of usage-impact of the owner-that all lights get turned off when rooms are vacated, faucets are double checked for shut off, and use of materials are kept to a conscientious level with conservation at the forefront. 

Outside areas: One off-street parking spot per person is available. The second floor deck with cafe table and chairs is for resident and studio artist use. First level deck is reserved for homeowners. No planting or use of yard is available unless agreed upon between homeowner (Trish) and resident.

 And yet! All this said, your time here is of the upmost, tenderly and compassionately tended. It is because of my belief in the power of independent creative energy and time for it to manifest, that the community of The EC exists.
