Artist in Residence Application

AiR at the EncaustiCastle are held twice-yearly for two juried artists. These are available, as proper space and materials allow, to artists of all modes, methods, and materials of creative expression. Best suited for visual artists, writers, poets, composers. Mentorship and coaching additional options if desired.

  • Provide a way in which your work can best be viewed by the selection committee.
  • Pure and in-depth time in studio? Hands-on instruction? Business development? Mentorship or collaborative-growth alchemy? The more information you can provide up front, the clearer and most fluidly we can develop a plan of action.
  • Are you pulling together an exhibit? Working with new material and experimenting? Taking time in a bigger space that offers fresh atmosphere in order to be open to chance and change? Diving deeper into a medium or mode for which you would like to spelunker?
  • What experience do you have working in residence, as well as self-directed inquiry and development? (There is no right answer! This question is to ensure we understand intentions and ambitions from the get-go)
