You need to be able to stand up for your life~
I vacillate: constantly.
Check myself for where my value lies…
what my intention is…
what my purpose is….
Especially in studio.
When I’m in front of a group of eager students,
watching their faces light up,
their heads nod,
their cheeks flush in excitement,
I know.
I know
where I am
what I’m doing
why I’m here.
When in studio
I slip.
I see no faces of
affirmation.
I have no nods of
satisfaction.
There is only my
own flushed face over the hot
wax
heat gun
torch
to affirm my
way.
Nothing speaking back to me
but paper
board
wax
brush.
I struggle,
asking for this to be enough.
invested.
When my eyes can’t
alight on the illuminated
enthusiasm in front of me.
-must rely on
my insides.
-know,
I’m fully
here.
