I wrote an email to my core compadres this morning, a rather impactful morning of ‘next’.
I wanted to share it here as well.
It is with new intensity that today starts. After these past few weeks of packing and repairing and renting and doing today starts with my mind and heart keenly aware of beginning.
Today we get the moving van, load and begin to drive. We start anew this next ‘next’ for us. It’s a wonder to me in a way I can’t quite describe. Awe-some in the most deliberate sense.
John and I both feel the weight of this first for us; our first true home, together.
I think it is so heavy because God is so strikingly in it; before us and for us.
There’s no certain, distinguishable moment or evidence of this, just a confident knowing.
Rilke this morning:
Through All That Happens
As you unfold as an artist, just keep on,
quietly and earnestly, growing through all that happens to you.
You cannot disrupt this process more violently than by looking
outside yourself for answers that may only
be found by attending to your innermost feeling.
