I road my bike across town. From north end to south in Lexington.
On my way walked through the Bluegrass 10,000 racers collecting in Cheapside Park
sweaty t’s and number pinned backs
around bandstands where market booths usually peddle; our Farmer’s Market.
Down-shifted up North Upper, joined Nicholasville Road
past University of
my library
hospitals
Fine Art building
SmashBurgers.
I day-dreamed over the sidewalks (no bike lane here and not trusting my Schwinn Cruiser to ride with the racing cars)
before reaching my landmark; USBank on the left.
Turned at Richmond Road
brevity taking hold.
One more mile and I was locking my bike
dabbing my brow
smiling without trying
ordering my green tea and lemon/rosemary scone.
I road my bike across town.
On the 4th of July.
In Lexington.
And nobody knew.
And it was so deliciously wonderfully all
okay.
I came back as well.
in love.

I love Louisville! The most artist supportive community I’ve ever seen! Went there for a glass art conference. Sooooooo impressed! What a blessing to live there!
Lexington, not Louisville Sandy-but I love it too! lexington has surprised me by its welcoming, inclusive community~
